Bhutan, a small landlocked country in South Asia, is located in the eastern Himalayas between China to the north and India to the south, east, and west. Known for its stunning natural landscapes, Bhutan is characterized by rugged mountains, dense forests, and a rich cultural heritage. The country has a unique blend of traditional Buddhist culture and modernity.

Bhutan is famous for its commitment to preserving the environment and promoting happiness over economic growth, a concept reflected in its Gross National Happiness (GNH) index. The monarchy, with a king serving as head of state, plays an important role in the nation's governance. Bhutan has maintained its sovereignty by staying largely isolated from external influences, and it only opened its doors to tourism in the 1970s.
